Bunk Rooms

There are six bunk rooms at Clayoquot Field Station. Each bunk room has four oversize bunk beds, two desks, lockable closets and a window looking out over the rainforest or Tofino Botanical Gardens. The bunk rooms are designed and finished with the intention to provide a comfortable stay in a learning environment.

Queen Rooms

These three rooms are spacious private rooms with a Queen bed, closet and desk. They are located on the second floor, and take advantage of the large shared bathrooms in the Field Station.

Teacher's Suite

The teacher's suite is a large, private bedroom (Queen + single) that contains an en suite bathroom. This room is intended to be a private space for teachers, artists in residence and group facilitators. Guests not associated with a group are welcome to inquire about availability.

Upstairs Classroom / Conference Room

The upstairs classroom is 750 ft². The view looks onto a large, covered deck that overlooks Tofino Botanical Gardens and the rainforest. Chairs, conference tables and audio and visual equipment are available.

Downstairs LAB

The downstairs lab is a 300 ft² room, located in the basement of the building. Various universities and colleges have kindly donated a good collection of lab equipment, including  compound and dissecting microscopes, and lots of ancillary equipment. This space is ideal for group lab activities, like plant pressing or specimen observation.

Library

Our library has scholarly and non-fiction books, and a selection of popular reading left by other guests. The focus of our library's materials reflects our organization's diverse tastes: evolutionary biology, natural history, ecology, horticulture, cultural criticism, the history of science and of course the occasional issue of the New Yorker.
It also has an Internet computer.

Complete Kitchen

Groups and individuals staying at CFS are responsible for preparing and cooking their own meals. The kitchen is big - very big. There a commercial cook-stove (six burners, large oven), two large fridges and ample counter and storage space. Pots, pans, dishes and cutlery are included.

Dining Area

The dining area is designed to be an inclusive space where people from different disciplines and walks of life can share their meals and daily experiences.

Shower and Laundry Facilities

There are two bathrooms, each with two showers. Pay-laundry facilities are available for guest use.

Wireless High Speed Internet

Wireless high-speed Internet access is available to all guests at CFS. Technical support is not available.
